Why are the Preds trading their starting goalie? Neither Ingram or Askarov are ready to be #1 goalies. Saros signed a contract extension for 4 years 20 mil last August.

Apparently you didn’t watch the playoffs while Saros was out and Colorado got goals on demand. Either way Nashville doesn’t trade a young vezina finalist goalie bc they have young unproven prospects that could possibly fill the role in a couple seasons. Neither are starters this season and both could end up failing to ever become starters (goalies are voodoo). Any productivity gains are likely offset by increased goals against. I’d rather have Saros at his cap/term

Saros is a top 10 goalie in the league. Nylander is a 2nd line PP specialist. This is not a knock on Willy, as he's a talented player. But the trade value just isn't there straight up.
