I believe that Nylander is the more valuable player and the Wings would have to add something to it I still dont think that Stevie Y does it. Bertuzzi is a not as good Offensively nor has the term on his contract but on the hand is better defensively and has a much better compete motor with physicality. I think Nylander's lack of effect in the compete factor will remind Yzerman of Dourin and Mantha both of whom he traded cause they didn't fit his vision of the team building.

Don't see Yzerman doing Bertuzzi and Nylander 1 for 1, Yzerman will want Matthew Knies++ for Tyler Bertuzzi with an extension probably adding Robertson and a 1st round pick to the deal.

Nylander has one extra year at a cap hit that you can sign Bert to for 5-7 years. Nylander will want 9 mil plus on his next deal. You'll get 2.2 mil in cap space for the 22-23 season and probably 2-3 mil + after that. Nylander is a great player but I don't understand the thought that he is a better player than bertuzzi. His numbers are slightly higher, but not by much. He lacks the defense, grit , compete, post season acumen and all around game that bertuzzi has now for a salary that is 2 mil higher. I can see nylander playing for the wings and maybe on a team with many of his countrymen would bring out the best in him. I think in this trade Toronto would need to add. Maybe there are other pieces involved. There could be a sign and trade senerio. All in all I think bertuzzi has an element Toronto needs more than they need what nylander can provide. Not selling him short, I like the player but Toronto is not short on skill, they are short on grit.

Giroux would go to Ottawa over Toronto, i'd think.
If he wants to keep pushing for a cup he stays in Florida.
