Description

Both Schiefele and Reinhart were PPG players last year and they are both signed for the next two years at a reasonable cap hit. It keeps both teams competitive and Schiefele would fit Florida’s offence first system perfectly. Fiala for Lucius is pretty even. Lucius was viewed as one of the best pure goal scoring forwards in last years draft and I would imagine he would be valued by Minnesota very highly. That trade is a maybe for me though and I instead would like to see if we could get someone more cheeper in free agency instead without giving up Lucius, maybe Rust or Rakell.

Everyone knows Fiala is available which I suspect means numerous offers for a top 25 scorer who is 25 years old. I can’t imagine a scenario where Lucius alone is the best offer.

Lucius was the 18th pick in a weak draft and in his D+1 season had only 2/3 of the production that he did in his D-1 season (using topdownhockeys nhl equivalency model). That doesnt get a 25yo dynamic ppg player. Not even close

I'd rather keep Reinhart. I get that Scheifele and the Jets need a breath of fresh air, but Reinhart doesn't. A lateral move isn't worth it when there is nothing to fix with Reinhart.

I hate the MIN trade for the Jets, a lot. The FLA trade needs more value added from Panthers or a higher pick. The rest is good

I don't see MIN and WPG trading with each other unless it is a depth player (Hendricks, 2019) or a player who fell short of expectations (Setoguchi, 2013).
