Description

Forgot to put a description for the Gibson trade:

Capitals need a bonafide starter. Samsonov and Vanecek are too inconsistent to keep that job, so the Caps bring in Gibson. It's not clear what the asking price for Gibson is, but since he's a goalie with lots of term I imagine it's around here.

Disclaimer: I am a Sharks fan, not a Capitals fan.

Not often we see hockey trades like this. I think it benefits both teams, with an even amount of cap being thrown around and upgrades in sorely needed areas for both teams.

There is probably a close to zero chance that Winnipeg considers an older defenseman with a bad contract and a rental utility player as a return for Scheifele.

As a Caps fan, I like this a lot.

Looking at the trades, not sure if they are even.

But as a Caps fan, I approve.

Only thing I would change would be Sammy resigning instead of DeSmith

As a Caps and Jets fan, I don't think Carlson holds nearly the value that people think he does. One of the guys I get the most upset with watching on a nightly basis cause of his seemingly poor effort level.

That being said, I could say the same for Schiefeles work ethic... maybe a swap could work in both of their favors lol

Will be very curious to see what GMBM does this off season though! 4 straight first round exits after the cup win in 2018... something will need to change I think.

Carlson's trade protection prevents this trade, this deal doesn't really interest me as a Jets fan.
