I think Detroit passes. Bertuzzi is almost a point a game player and moving up 6 spots isn't worth it.

It's not too bad, some thoughts tho:

I like the Nichushkin signing, that's exactly the type of move Devils should be going for in FA.

I personally think Manson is very much overrated and sharply declining, wouldn't want the Devils to sign him.
There are internal options for promotion into the NHL anyways. (Mukhammadulin, Bahl, Walsh, Okhotiuk)

Daws looked promising in his games with the Devils, but I don't trust that tandem to make the playoffs.
I'd very much want Daws to develop in the minors for at least one more year and to trade for someone like Vanecek to battle it out with Blackwood over this coming season.
Also, Bernier's likely gonna be LTIRetired so no need in sending him anywhere.

Don't think Hughes would be too happy having Bertuzzi skating on his wing, think there's some bad blood between the two.
Besides, it doesn't make sense for Devils to trade for rentals at this point in time, it's too early for that.
Rather keep #2 pick and draft Cooley anyway..

I wouldn't sign Blackwell, there's so much competition at forward already that there's no need for him at all.
McLeod should be nowhere near the 3rd line, he's a 4th liner and will do more harm than good anywhere else.

Bertuzzi is worth far more then moving up 6 spots. Bertuzzi a 2nd and a prospect might be a fair ask but Bertuzzi and the 8 OV is way too big of a price to pay for 2 OV. Nobody in this draft is a sure thing.
