Lucic deal seems a little out of place. NJD doesn’t take cap dumps (if they was the intention).

While Nylander is a great add, Severson is too important for the Devils to give up at this point. Offense is already the Devils strongest area anyway.
Could only see him being dealt if he outright refuses to extend with the Devils.
In such case this is exactly the type of deal I’d want Fitzgerald to look for, could even throw in 2m retention for the perennially cap strapped Leafs.

I wouldn’t mind drafting Nemec at #2 that much but putting him in an NHL lineup right away is probably not the best thing for him, or for the team.

I dont’t see the point in Calgary trade, AJ is sneaky good and would rather have him in the lineup over McLeod or Kuokkanen.

Should probably look into grabbing another goalie.
Bernier might be done playing pro hockey due to injuries and Blackwood hasn’t earned the starter spot yet.

But it doesn't make much sense for Devils to part with Sharangovich for Nylander.
Nylander doesn't fit the Devils timeline.
I think Leafs are much better of keeping Willie anyway, that amount of scoring and playdriving he generates for 7m is very difficult to replace.
