Description

This is my dream off-season for the Jets. If they can trade away a few defensemen, retain a few of our ufa’s and rfa’s and make room for some younger players. As well as signing one good free agent forward (doesn’t have to be Fiala) I think the roster will be fixed. With the roster set they just need a new coaching staff who can develop some new offensive and defensive systems that fit the team better. I know the chances of something like this happening are slim but at least I can dream lol.

Kevin Fiala's value is probably close to Mark Schiefele's, probably more. The fact that we are division rivals would make us pay even more as well.

Yeah I definitely agree, my intent was not to annoy Wild fans lol. Fiala was a point per game player so we’d definitely have to trade away a lot more for him which I doubt Chevy would even consider. Maybe we could look for a cheaper option instead like Pulijarvi or Mikheyev. I just really like Fiala’s style of play and since Minnesota is in cap trouble I don’t think they’ll be able to afford to keep him. What do you guys think it would take to get his rfa rights?

That doesn't get Fiala, Jets really need a top 6 add like that if they want to be in a better position next season though.

Fiala does not have more value than Scheifele. Scheifele is a centreman, which is seen as a way more valuable piece than a winger and he also has two years left on his with a very team friendly AAV while Fiala is an RFA.

I edited the trade, it’s probably a little closer to what his actual value would be but the Wild would definitely want a better prospect than Chisholm, I just don’t know if I’m willing to give up Lucius.

I think it will be highly unlikely the Jets consider moving their 1st in 22 or 23 and if they do move one of them it shouldn't be for another left shot forward. Especially one looking for a large raise coming off a career year.

Fiala is a good player, but is more of a luxury for the Jets than a need.
