Description
The plan os for another year of development. Paying trocheck might ve a mistake but i feel he'll be a good part to stabalize the team for next few years. Also he and haula are insurance in case mitts doesnt take another step in development this t
Year. Adding foligno to the lockeroom should help as well. The plan would be to make prospects fight thier way unto the team over the next 3 years and to trade the odd guys out for futures.
Just not sure if boston would do ot.

Vincent Trocheck gets around $6,500,000 x 5-6 years. He's not signing with Buffalo to play 3rd line right wings when he's been playing the 2C roll for most of his career.

Your probably right that he'll go somewhere else for more
But then i'll have to thank him for saving me from myself and just resign hinestroza. Any thoughts on the boston deal or the team build? I have salary space to pay trocheck 12,500,000 for 2 years maybe that would convince him to visit.

Doubtful Buffalo accepts, Olofsson is really good. And like Lambchopz said Foligno has negative value right now.

Goaltending is terrible(no upgrade)
We trade Olofsson and retain on him to get a mediocre player and a old guy and give up a 2nd. All around bad.

Manson isn’t worth signing, he’s not been good in 3 years
Trochecks contract is 3 years too long

Haula is the bruins second line center.

Since becoming the bruins second line center (all of 2022), he’s third on the bruins in even strength points, with 35 in 52 games. For reference, that’s more than guys like kadri, nylander, Tavares, Calgary’s 2nd line center only has 25 over the same stretch. Bennett is florida’s second line center right? He has 27. Point is playing 2nd line center for tampa currently. He has 23. O’Reilly for the blues. 26. Do you want me to keep going through all the good teams in the NHL and what their second line centers do?

Little value, for 2 million and change for this year and next? Really?

So do you like the deal? Is there something there the bruins would like in cap savings and a scorer?

Wow, olofsson is good. I can see maybe adding another center to help with d zone starts (or a real #1c, but that's another discussion), but you brought in two guys to play on the wings which is only blocking a guy like Peterka who has graduated from Rochester. Manson is fine if it's only 2 years, I would definitely grab at least one vet goalie, probably two- skip Anderson and tokarski. But I want no part of that Boston trade, if you wanna move olofsson for a young, right d, a guy that checks the defensive, physical, talented boxes, sure. Not for anything like this.

Last I checked he wasn’t having a good year, but yes the last 20 games or so he has been very good (about a PPG in this span). But regardless, his value isn’t gonna be exactly groundbreaking, and isn’t certainly worth the package here

He has 38pts in his last 50gp, which is 62pt pace. That package isn't anything special lol. Bjork is a borderline 13th forward at this point. The 2nd rounder has less then a 18% chance of playing 100 games in the NHL. The only worthwhile piece is Olofsson and Boston doesn't have a spot for him.

Mainly what i want from haula and foligno is leadership and influence for our developing young talent. I think, and i know this is my opinion, olofsson is a 1 dimesional player, a really amazing shooter in that dimension but 1 dimensional and he'll wanna be paid like a top 2nd line winger simlar to what im offering trochek. I dont want to pay him that because quinn is a talented shooter who im hoping surpasses him, cant have a team of shooters or young talent with no one to leanr the game from. The above team does not have a 1st line its a mix of talent. 1 season of mitts learning to play the game from haula is worth a lot. Nick folignos experience as a captain on a tortorella coached team has value. Guys that have been on runs in vegas and boston have value.
For goal tending i dont see anyone better than anderson signing here. Would you rather Jones? Holtby? Why not show loyalty to your boys and give anderson and tokarski another year. Im not sure upl is ready yet either and im pretty sure the other 2 goalies will be IR enough for h to get 20 nhl games while he shows me he can crush the AHL and portillo and levi are on thier way.
This team isnt a playoff team, trying to make them one is rushing things. The boston deal is a low 2nd and 2 guys im not gonna sign for when im good traded for two guys that will make the guys i want here in 3 years better. Thats the thought. I wonder what you thought of girgenson and okposo 2 years ago if you dont see the amaxing value if an eric haula.

Wait so you would seriously reject a deal where you get a pick, the better and younger forward, and dump a bad contract? You can’t be legit rn. Haula is solid but he is no star

Arguing that buffalo shouldn’t make this trade makes a ton of sense. What do they want with one year of a solid 2C. But the whole, “oh the bruins would happily trade their 2C for a 4th,” shtick is silly.

I didn’t realize he was having quite the good past little portion of the season, so I take back that he has little value, however I would consider Olofsson the more valuable asset and with the rest of the stuff on top, I don’t see how Boston doesn’t come out winning this trade

I tend to agree Sticking Out Tongue, boston needs a scoring center not a winger...but i feel haula is replaceable on the team. With the savings maybe you can bring a center onboard...for instance offer trocheck the same deal i did and he'd go boston over buffalo (i assume). Or trade bjork, the pick to see if vegas will send over karlsson to get thier cap in order.

The argument would be that olofsson still has some growing to do, and haula is a guy that they know fits in their top six. Olofsson hasn’t played an important game in the NHL, haula has. If I’m boston I make the trade, but I’m definitely a little nervous.
