Description
I don’t know where I would fit Rico in here, I don’t really want to trade him yet but if this were the roster I don’t see a fit anywhere

My trade list:
Justin Braun — assuming Helleson would be ready to play after the TDL
Adam Henrique — I can’t find a spot for him on the current roster
Derrick Grant
Jakob Silfverberg
Anthony Stolarz — assuming Dostal would be ready to back up Gibby after the TDL
Kevin Shattenkirk — if we had an okay replacement for him for the remainder of the year
Josh Mahura

Milano/Jones/Steel/Benoit/Vaaks — I’d trade them if they were needed in a bigger package (like the dream Tkachuk deal I have here)

    you most definitely are dreaming.
    EJ isnt a cap dump.
Hes worth at least a 4th in return, COL dont need to add to move him

That’s easily fine — just had it there if they wanted the cap space

I’ll get it off here to make you happy if I need

No I know that. Just saying I can get it off because I just have those deals in there as an option I guess you could say

I’d be completely happy taking 1 to 2 year guys that teams want to get their cap gone for compensation

If youre looking to take on D players for cap and compensation, a player like Muzzin would be more suitable than EJ

Any players really, wasn’t too sure how your guy’s cap was looking so that’s why I had him in there

If COL doesnt find a suitable trade partner for EJ, cant bring back Manson.
Hes been okay, id rather have him then EJ, but looking at my AGM, the top 4 is kinda set and Manson will want more money than a third pairing dman should be paid

I gotcha. I’d imagine he’d want another 3-4 years at around 4 million

Milan Lucic has a 10 team trade list, He's not waiving for a Non-Contender and neither is Erik Johnson.

Hasn’t Lucic already waive like twice and besides, they’re just a cap option for teams

I feel like there's a near zero percent chance that Muzzin waives his full NTC to go from a contender at home, to the basement in SoCal.

Yeah, I mean...it'd be a friggin' boatload. Like, I think there's a near-zero percent chance you get away with it without starting with McTavish, the Ducks lotto pick this year, then keep adding. I'd love to add him, but the package would hurt.

I do think the idea that we've all likely floated in our brains, of using some of the assets that were acquired in the Manson/Hampus/Rakell trades to get a long term upgrade is absolutely the way to go though-If you can somehow turn those into a young, long term solution (ie. Chychrun) then it's the way to go. I'd be 100% behind trying to add Forsberg up front as well, but he's also probably a near-lock to stay in Nashville IMO.

Who knows, he was previously in the LA area with the Kings before so probably has friends/family still in the area?
I recommended Muzzin only because he fit the criteria of the OP of a Dman who ANA could take on in exchange for compensation

Dammit man, the Leafs fans have got to you! tears of joy

All good, I'm just wearing down on the old "Muzzin waives because friends and family in LA!" thing, that's purely done out of convenience, neglecting the fact that he'd be going from one of the top teams in the league to the basement, and (I would guess) the fact that vast majority of his family and friends are, in all likelihood, in Ontario, given that he grew up there, played Jr. there, etc...

But I absolutely get what you're saying.
