I would sign Marchment (who’s dad works for us and is sharks alumni) over wasting that 23 1st on Konecny.
trade Balcers and Simek to Arizona with a pick to move their deals (simek has a neg value on his deal but is a decent bottom pairing D and Balcers would be a plus contract and would act as a sweetener to the deal)

I think Tyson Jost is a good comparable to Balcers looking mostly at role, age and career production

But they are super cash strapped and unless he takes a big discount I don’t see them doing it. that said i think it takes 5x5 or 5x7 to get him. but he is decent speed for his size, big strong body nice shot decent vision would be a good fit to pair with smaller guys like Bordeleau or Eklund.

for reference Florida has 15 guys signed next year at a hit of 77.9 mil meaning they need to sign 8 guys with only 4.5 mil in cap space. and the players they need to sign are Hagg Chiarot Giroux acciari Nutivarra. to me the only way they resign marchment is if they move 2 big money guys, 1 to free up space for the rest of the roster and 1 to resign him. and I just don’t see that ever happening.

These are all terrible trades for San Jose. Reimer is worth more. Sharks are in no position to move likely a high 1st in a loaded draft for Konecny who doesn’t bring much in the goal department which is the sharks main need. Val is being way undersold as well.

What a stupid question

I mean this is a stupid AGM.

Firstly, you think we got no future. Look at our highly underrated prospect pool. We drafted arguably the best player in the 2021 draft (Eklund), we have our goalie of the future in Gaudreau, and a couple other prospects who have great potential in Bordeleau, Wiesblatt, Coe, Robins, Gushchin, and Chrona. I would also like to mention the young guns on the Barracuda who are nearing that jump to the NHL in Raska, Hatakka, and Knaizev. Add to that this years 1st and what ever gems Doug Wilson Jr. finds. On top of that we have Meier, who will be a superstar for years to come and Hertl, who is an amazing 2-Way center and will be a great mentor for players to come. At defense, we got Ferraro and Merkley to lead the way and then a resurgent Karlsson. Add in some underrated players like Knyzhov, Balcers, Barabanov, and Dahlen to mix too. We got a future and its miles brighter than anyone thinks.

Secondly, the AGM is bad just in general... Reimer is worth way more, Balcers is worth way more, and we're in no position to buy (especially at that value). The line-up and roster moves are also crap. Shows a large absence in knowledge about the Sharks. I'd recommend you stay away from making AGM's about the team unless you want more "stupid questions" asked.

Not against trading for Reimer, but I think it would likely be someone different going back to San Jose.

I would think a younger guy like Gersich or Pilon would be the return SJ receives instead of Hathaway
