Trading an older player to re-sign an even older player would be very “Leafs”

Gio has at least 2 good seasons left in him. Hes not an old dinosaur that cant play

LMAO, why the **** would Buffalo do that? Yup, realistic for a leaf fan I guess, not for any of the other 31 NHL teams.

Simple they get positive assets in the process and a goalie thats proved capable in the past. They also need to get to the cap floor plus they need a veteran goalie to mentor UPL

What would you change? I'm open to criticism

Sabres dont want Mrazek and they arent going to take a pile of AHLers to help Toronto with their cap issues. Its way easier to hit the cap floor than get off the cap ceiling

I mean, this isn't just crap on the Leafs talk. We are well aware of who Muzzin is, he played 500 regular season / 50 playoff games with us.

He has the second worst plus/minus on the leafs, declined in points, declining possession numbers, declining PDO, multiple concussions and injuries, he's 33 and signed for more years. I don't think I am saying something outlandish saying he isn't living up to his contract so far. Also he has a NTC (which takes away all the Leafs bargaining power)

Like I mentioned, one bad stretch washes away entire careers when a player has a leaf on their jersey. Also love the "declining PDO" comment. A low PDO essentially means a player is unlucky, so if that's the case with Muzzin, that accounts for a lot of the other issues you mentioned apart from the injuries. Even then if you saw how he got his 2nd concussion this season, that was an unlucky play where two players accidentally skated into each other and muzzin hit his head. But none of that matters because he had a rough 15 games this year so that means he's worthless.

Fair but I think it's equal value

Gio could step into Muzzins spot easily

It's not. We don't want contracts

a 3rd and a young player that's ready to step into a bottom 6 role next season and a decent prospect are equivalent to a late second.

I think you might need to read what I originally wrote, I at no point indicated he was "worthless" or said his "career was over." I said I would not sign Muzzin to the same contract the Leafs gave him if he was a free agent. If you think his injuries are not a major issue, and he will live up to the contract, just say "The Leafs keep Muzzin, because two 3rd rounders isn't sufficient"

I see the sharks dealing Reimer. He's much older than the 2 goalies they have and not good enough to try and make a run with him. Hill and kahkonen are 2 solid youngsters

Yea but having that solid vet presence who doesn't mind being 2nd fiddle but can start if needed is HUGE!
you have the last 1/4 of the season to evaluate both Kahkonen and Hil and decide who we really want to roll with and trad the other.
remember we have Gaudreau who will be pushing for time in about 3 years

Sorry Leafs fans but any deal that bring Muzzin back to the Kings cannot be deemed as realistic.

Sabres also have to get to the cap floor and Mrazek has shown in the past he's a good goalie. You also get a 3rd and 5 B level prospects. Thats pretty good

Those prospects are crap
And we can get to the floor without taking players we don’t want

lol. No. It will cost at least a 2nd to move Mrazek, and no one wants the garbage you threw in the trade with him.

No. We already have young players stepping into the bottom six. Sharks want a 2nd for Reimer. Stop beating around the bush

I agree with your concept of the trade.
None of the prospects are great, but some could become NHL players.
TBH that would be a good trade for Seattle they need bodies to fill their prospect nearly emply pool.
