Kapanen doesn't deserve 4 years, and I'd be surprised if they don't move him. He still has the potential and skillset to put up 50+ points, but hasn't developed the hockey IQ to get there. IF they don't move him, he gets 1 year in pitt to prove it, at 3 mil or less. Malkin at 5 is almost half what he is making now. He has stated he will take less, but that would be insulting. I think Malkin will sign for 3 years around 20mil. Maybe he follows Sid's superstitions and signs for 7.1. Pettersson isn't going to sniff a 2nd round pick, let alone 2 additional 3rds. He is the wrong LD to move anyways, Dumoulin has more value and is a pending UFA with declining play.

I doubt the pens sign ZAR back. I think they were comfortable getting rid of him because they still have Zohorna, OConnor, and Bjorkqvist that can easily take 3 bottom 6 spots next year. Then you have Carter, Blueger, and McGinn to take the other 3.
