Why would the Oilers give up on Ceci, who's been the most consistent d-man and their best RHD all year, for a lateral move at best? While adding assets to do so? CC is just hitting his prime and is signed through what are likely his best years at a reasonable cap hit. What GM trades that guy he signed as a UFA less than a full season into the deal? Not going to happen.
Also, trading Barrie for a LHD just diminishes the RHD depth chart which is weak as is. The point is to add, not subtract -- going to take a while for Kesselring and Kemp and Desharnais to be ready (if at all).
