There's no way 1 year of Tierney is somehow equivalent to 3 years of Kassian. Edmonton needs to add significantly.

Report out of OTT that Kassian is a player of interest, so why wouldn't they get their guy for a pending UFA they don't intend to sign?

I think this is a good deal for the Habs, Lehk would be an exceptional depth piece for Edmonton, and he can score.

The price is steep but the market has been established by moves like Hagel. That being said as an RFA he's not viewed as a pure rental so moving a 1st becomes easier to digest. Kulak would be an excellent deadline rental too

But the Hamonic is the exception and not the rule. Just because Ottawa paid a 3rd for an extra year of Vancouver's unwanted salary doesnt meant that they'll want to take on two extra years of Edmonton's unwanted salary for free.
