The Devils would want Barron or Behrens, I think. Decent start to the conversation though

Not enough for Lehkonen IMO. Severson would be a great add, but then you're blocking Byram from the top-4 the following year.

Habs would decline that. Replacing Bowers with Foudy and adding a better pick would be more in-range.

I think if you replace Bowers with Sampo Ranta you would have a deal.

Buffalo declines, we’d rather keep Anderson if all you offer in return is a 6th or 7th

Don’t think COL does the deal then. Ranta is a definitely a boom or bust prospect but damn when he is on the size, speed, and shot are already NHL top line quality. I mean he isn’t untouchable but prefer not to include him in a trade for a 3rd liner.

If you want a top 30 (by WAR) RHD for two years at 2.05M or whatever, then you're gonna need to pay up

What do you think Helleson and a 1st is? Helleson is a better a prospect than Behrens.

Helleson > Behrens for me.
The UD power play is nuts though.

Is that the current feeling for the fanbase? Haven’t seen that much from others in the public sphere.

If so, my apologies. I'll have to do more research.

Yeah ranking the 3 guys you mentioned I would say it is pretty universally agreed it’s Barron, Helleson, Behrens. Behrens is the furthest away from the NHL playing his frosh year at DU. Helleson is a junior at BC I like his game a lot. Helleson and Barron are righties Behrens is a lefty. Behrens is by far the smallest fwiw. All good man.

I hadn't realized Helleson had added dynamic offense to his game. Thought he was penciled in more as a bottom pair guy. Good to know.

I do like Colorado as a trade partner for Severson though

So 100% my own take. Helleson is a big right that can skate. I think on a good NHL team he eventually finds himself as the 2nd pairing d guy that is a pk anchor too. Played on NTDP team with Hughes for what it’s worth.
