Description

If I'm running an NHL team I am getting as many 1st's for the 2023 draft as possible. Go scorched Earth, and then have a crop of players from what looks like one of the best draft classes since 2015. They would all be on the same aging curve, and you just let them ride.

Trading that 2024 first seems dumb. It's not like the vast majority of those 2023 picks are going to make an immediate impact on the team. They'd still be awful in 2024.

It'll be interesting to see how the Coyotes look after how hard they blew things up, especially if they trade Chychrun.

The Canes better be getting 2 firsts added to that if you think they are doing that. Risto is not anywhere close to being worth a first, and just because the flyers overpayed on a subpar player doesn’t mean that other teams need to make that same mistake.

JVR isn't getting even close to a first, and Provorov is a bit overvalued, but this is the right idea.
Fletcher should be doing this, but instead they're going for an "aggressive retool"
