I think you forgot to try to get Goodrow. You would have 2 of the 3, might as well try to reunite that line. Although Hagel would be a better Goodrow replacement if you can’t get Goodrow. As long as Lucic keeps his antics to a minimum, this team could win the cup or go to the finals. It would be fun to see this team play someone like Colorado in the conference finals or a team like Carolina in the finals.

He hasnt been elite defensively idk who told u that. Nonetheless 2 1st rnders for a 6th rnd pick who has only played 100 games is pretty risky doesnt matter if the contract is good, ur paying that much for a middle to bottom 6 player.

Agreed, the whole middle 6 is very good defensively and the top line is elite offensively

I don’t think that deal for Hagel is bad this gets bonus points for not trading a bunch of trash for him

Hagel's in a position where a) you can reasonable argue that what's equivalent to two first is too much but b) understand the Hawks are in a position where his contract + term + skill set allow them to sit back and wait for offers like these.

I don't think the Flames would part with Zary + 1st for him, especially if there are higher quality players available.
