Knies is better than a late Rd 1st Rd pick, or have you not read his prospect scouting report ?

I'm aware of who he is, but as reported, the Hawks want a 1st AND top prospect so that would be the late 1st and Knies. I get if you don't like that, but Hawks aren't shopping Hagel and perfectly fine keeping him.

Every heard of a band called Rolling Stones, they are really good teachers of life....You can't always get what you want.

NO chance Hagel fetches that over asking price.

That’s fine, the Hawks will keep him. They certainly aren’t trading him for something like this.

It's the Leafs loss who are trying to compete now. Chicago doesn't stand to lose either way, and the safe bet is keeping Hagel who is proven versus betting on a late 1st (less then 30% chance of turning into a NHL player statistically) and Knies which who knows what the kid will look like in the NHL.

The Leafs had a player like Hagel, his name was Kapanen and he got traded to a desperate team for a crappy 1st Rd pick, an overpaid 4th liner and crappy prospect...

Are you happy now ?

Like I said, I'm happy either way. Hagel is great, he's a more talented version of Andrew Shaw and a fan favorite because of it; even Shaw who's a part-time analyst was asked if Hagel reminded him of himself and he said yes, but a more talented version. So yes, I'm fine with keeping him. Also, if the return is high enough, i'm fine with that as well as the Hawks need to rebuild.

So to answer your question, I'm happy either way and glad the Hawks are staying firm they aren't trading him for a late 1st and decent or "good" prospect.
