TB doesn't have the cap space nor the need for copp is he a very good player yes,but TB really doesn't need him

Andrew Copp $3,640,000 cap hit. Tampa $100,000 cap space. Somehow the math doesn't work there.

That's if BOGO stays on LTIR until the playoffs which I know will suprise a lot of lightning haters ,but isn't going to happen

But there will be a team who will give up a first for Copp.

When everyone's healthy, the Lightning have $712 in cap space and nobody that you would move out to bring in a player like him.

Tampa accepts with 50% retention and will add Katchouk or Raddysh to the 1st. They will involve a 3rd team for a 4th or something, similar to the Savard trade. Tampa can make 1 additional move to make the cap work. I've done trades for Copp in a couple agms and made it work fine this way.

It works for Tampa if the Jets retain 50%, provided that Tampa sends one of Raddysh or Katchouk in the trade, and Tampa has a 3rd team involved to retain the extra 910k on Copp. Tampa then can make one additional move to free up the 150k they would need. Not terribly likely, but Copp is definitely the kind of player Tampa could use in the middle 6 for the playoff run.
