I disagree. Monahan isn't worth his 6.8m contract and just 1.5 years left. Sens spend 6.8m a lot better this summer.

he makes less than 6.8..... regardless I am thinking bring him in to play out the rest of the year , mentor some of the young forwards. Hopefully he regains his confidence, puts up some numbers and then he can be moved in the off season. If he can get his form back from a couple of years ago he would be in demand. He is only 27 and could be a second line center in the right situation. It is a gamble but one I would take.

It's a lot of money, there's a risk here but personally I wouldn't mind a short term reclamation project like that. Not my money though
