Description
For consideration via Jfresh and topdown hockeys model

Hagel - 83% WAR
Kubalik - 82%
De Haan - 89%

Alex Kerfoot - 25%
Nick Ritchie - 15%
Justin Holl - 48%

Honestly might not even need to trade Ritchie or have some of the retention on the blackhawks players considering in moving Holl and Kerfoot the leafs open up some good space

Value-wise pretty sure the mock trade is fine, Hirvonen is basically a late-first, early-second prospect - Abramov is a developed second, along with a third for retention seems a relatively fair price for one year of De Haan as a rental. Kerfoot for Hagel one-for-one seems fair looking at Hagel's limited experience and low draft pedigree - although together the value of Holl along with another third, villeneuve (4th) and a first could pay for the difference of Hagel and make the value of the last year of Kubalik's deal.
    CHI
It was reported Chicago was willing to deal anyone outside of Toews, Jones and Kane - also mentioned Kubalik and De Haan by name as people as players on the block. Hagel is the main question mark in the deal however he's really fucking good and I'm not sure how much the blackhawks value him so I'd be willing for the leafs to pay a bunch for him because there's def a very strong top-6 forward ceiling

Looking further into Hagel vs Kerfoot

        31pts in 44 games (Kerf)
26 points in 41 games (Hagel)

The main consideration in comparing them in value is obviously Hagel is 3 years younger than Kerf and on a very strong contract. Leafs probably could end up giving up more assets to even out the swap (additionally because Kerfoot doesn't fit the Blackhawks vision that well) but it could well be worth it with Hagel's potential and team friendly deal - exactly the kind of player the leafs get a ton of value out of

My god so much in that trade. Hawks still say say no because Quality > Quantity. I genuinely believe they would get more assets by moving each player individually and they wouldn’t have to take all that cap space back.

Please modify the last trade to remove the offensive language, otherwise I will need to take down the entire post.

On occasion more of a shot blocker but to be fair that’s what Chicago has

good point there, unfortunately the leafs lack any real S tier prospects outside of Sandin (who'd I'd say is off the table) so Robertson, Knies and Niemla would be the only real assets to condense the trade - trading great prospects like that for two rentals and a former 6th rounder doesn't make a huge amount of sense. I'd say the leafs could add more assets if they needed to to complete a trade, however if the trade requires an upgrade to one of those three big prospects I wouldn't do it and I don' think Dubie would either - so maybe the deal isn't there

As for trading all three individual blackhawks for more success, it's become a narrative recently with NHL gms that its goddamn impossible to make trades at this point because of COVID restrictions, hard cap and stuff like that so I'd say being able to unload two assets on the block in one move could be more appealing than deterring
