What do I need to add?

Anything that would actually convince the Red Wings to part with the 2nd line center. None of the pieces you had in the package are players that add value to the red wings that they do not have already. Walker a RD on a team deep in the position, Andersson a center prospect that has struggled in the NHL sort of like M. Rasmussen, and Thomas a center prospect that is older in ahl (22 already) and would be behind Veleno. What are the wings getting in this deal other then weaker? Depth is not the wings problem its high end talent and this does nothing to solve that.

Detroit declines Suter is playing good hockey right now and the 2nd line is keeping pace the 1st production.

Andersson is more well known for his temper tantrums than his play. No way Yzerman brings him to Detroit. Walker is an RHD and Detroit doesn't need anymore RHDs. Plus he recently tore his ACL and his MCL. Thomas also had a season ending injury and it required surgery to repair his shoulder.

Suter is playing 2C in Detroit and is getting better every game now that he has settled in. He's producing at a point per game pace for the last two months and the centre position is one of only two positions of need for Detroit.

What you're offering is two failed prospects and a RD that never has managed to play with a positive +/- in the NHL. None of that is of any use for Detroit. What you need to add for Yzerman to even consider trading away his 2C is either a direct replacement, which you don't have, or something that is so good that it would be impossible to say no to the offer, like Byfield + a 1st.

Plus both Walker and Thomas had season ending injuries.

I think this is less of an issue for the Red Wings, if the pieces were young players with top 6/top 4 LD upside they would think about it. But its more of the same of what they already had that's the problem.

The point I was trying to make was players coming off of serious injuries don't have the same value.

Suter has been pretty good. He'd be a great 3rd line center for a playoff type team. He's been our 2nd line center and we have no replacement currently. It just wouldn't be worth moving him currently unless it was some crazy offer.
