rest of the season

Description
lowkey... bring back Julien - we are still paying him. Put DD as assistant coach and lay back with a simple system for the rest of the year.

DD has lost control - he was not ready to assume that role.

Put Petry on leave like Drouin... the guy is dealing with some major brain fog... he is not in the game - he doesn't need to be traded... he needs a break.

TRADES:

NYR:

I want Kravtsov - pretty sure Chariot could do it (or lehkonen, but I would target him)

VGK:

We are eating the full cap of Smith (and we could retain in a Dadonov trade), in exchange for Roy and a 2nd (minus Pitlick and a 3rd).

CGF:

Getting Toffoli will hurt - Coronato is the price to pay. Hugues said he was targeting prospect rather than picks because he wants to shorten the rebuild.

EDM:

We are taking a LOT of cap back (8M I think) - will help them at TD, plus removes some bad contract. They get a retained Drouin for 2 more season - a bargain really. Habs get Barrie to replace Petry of he is finally traded and they get Koskinen to send to the slaugther every night instead of their young rookie goaltenders.

CAR:

lets troll KK

Literally trading their first to ARI to get Dvorak who will fit better this year to contend (he is an immediate upgrade on KK - we'll see longterm) - basically, habs only lost a third round pick. We bring back KK to the fold. He will get plenty of playing time.

LAVAL:

Caufield, Poehling, Primeau and Romanov are sent down to Laval to win a championship. Make it clear for the kids that it is not about their play - you want them to build chemistry in the minor. No point in staying in this dumpster fire of a team.

Harvey-Pinard - Poehling- Caufield

Dea - Dauphin - Ylönen

No thanks man. We need to upgrade our defence and goaltending first. We can worry about our offence later.

You want Savard and Kulak? Chariot maybe? but with that cap free - you can obtain those players.

I don’t think there is anyway Holland would consider Barrie straight up for Drouin so that trade falls apart very quickly for Edmonton. Granted I will say I think Drouin would be an excellent target to play with Leon just this purposed deal won’t work and I’m not entirely sure how to counter it fairly.

Not really. We need a top 4 right handed defence man, and a starting goalie. I wouldn’t want anything from Montreal right now. Especially nothing that they are willing to give up..

Rangers need a RW more than a what would be 8th defenseman for them. Plus they’ve done really well in recent 2nd rounds so why give it up? Just doesn’t make sense for the rangers given chiarot does nothing for them.

Not a chance Chariot gets that much back. I'd be surprised if a team gives a 2nd round pick for him without any retention.

Well I can't wait for you guys to move 10.8M in the next two weeks smile

Part of the trade is retaining on Dadonov as well and sending Pitlick with similar production and a 3rd.

I agree he is not worth that objectively - it's a TD inflation and bidding war for a guy whose impact is mostly felt during the playoffs (when you are allowed to crosscheck so hard as to break ribs.)

They probably chased away a lot of potential bidders with the crazy asking price. He's a 3rd pairing guy on a contender.

So was Savard - we are all talking about a late first round pick right?

Even more the reason to not, why are we paying the retention let the 3rd team pay for that.
