I'm sure they want to keep Patches, but they have to clear up A LOT of room to fit him and Martinez coming back.

Hard to really put a concrete value on him, but if it's in division, it's for a friggin' haul.

Completely agree with this.

Pretty solid leverage for any team trading with Vegas lol

But yeah, Vegas will look to get rid of others first.

No shot you trade this level of a player for a 2nd in your division. VGK will ship another player with their 1st to add value before doing this trade, sorry if you are a LAK and Patches fan.

The NHL doctors would have to deem him medically unfit for the entire rest of the season, after Vegas doctors did the same. I'd imagine it's a little different than the Kucherov thing because the timing of his return was so close to the playoffs. Since Patches has been activated from IR already (at least according to CF, I haven't followed their games to verify that), that seems like it would be too much of a stretch for the NHL to look past.

Patches already off IR. They now have to clear $12mm and 2 roster spots in order to bring in Eichel & Martinez.

They will try to move other first, but just as they held teams over the coals in the expansion draft, other teams are now going to flip the script on them.
