Chiarot is a scratch in Calgary, why would they pay a 1st for him?

Hanifin Anderson are better than Chiarot
Chiarot and Tanev are pretty much the same dman, but I personally would give the edge to Tanev
So NOT Kylington, not Valimako, not Zadorov, not Gudbranson
He would definitely be on your roster, if you wanna argue you like Kylington on the 2nd pairing fine, but Chiarot is still playing over one of Zadorov or Gudbranson

Chiarot and Tanev are nothing alike. Like not at all. Tanev was the best shutdown defenseman in the entire NHL last year. Chiarot is a big physical presence, he is interchangeable with Zadorov and Z has played better statistically the last 2 years

Interesting for Ottawa because Armia could be helpful on the Sens 4th line RW next season

They are overpaying Zaitsev, could overpay Armia instead. Problem is coach/GM really love Zaitsev for some reason




Tanev is a lot better than Chiarot. Kylington has broke out, he's much better too

Chiarot would be an upgrade on their 3rd pairing. Would they pay that price for that? Or maybe they thing they'd have a good chance to extend Chiarot at a reasonable amount

Reasonable amount … I hope not a single team pays 4.5M+ for Chiarot this offseason

Pass on the Armia trade. Would much rather ride out a higher cap hit on Zaitsev with a year less term.
