3-Way Shuffle (Edm / Philly / Habs)

Description
I mostly wanted to see what this kind of scenario would look like and how to present it in this format. Considered Giroux instead of Couturier, but this was more balanced in terms of salary (taking a raise next year for Galchenyuk into account).
Next time I'll combine the notes for who the team is keeping, in the original transaction details.

How well do you think this works out for all 3 teams involved?

As an oilers fan I would take this all day. I think Oilers end up with more cap space

          Very interesting!

I'm just going to go out on a limb and say i get the feeling that Edmonton won't be happy with their return, MTL is somewhat on the fence and Philly is the happiest.

          Once again just a hunch.

As much as I'm pretty sure my first reaction was to say no, my second thought of reason stepped in and its starting make a lot of sense.

If everyone was happy with this, I think I could be too.

          Thanks. smile

I think it solves some issue(s) and gives all 3 teams a bit of a different look, while the value is close enough that nobody seems to be getting the best of the trade.

Flyers wouldn't be after a RW in Eberle. So I don't think that would work. He'd need 2nd line minutes to be effective... he wouldn't get that here.

Coots is a center every team has on the cup winning teams - I'm still way to high on him... haha, I"m a little bias.

It's a change for all three teams, but I wanted to do a 3-way trade and that seemed to be the best way to break it down. Otherwise Flyers get RNH and Gallagher, Edmonton gets Galchenyuk and Schenn, Montreal gets Eberle and Couturier. I think that's a worse fit.

          Filpulla - Giroux - Voracek
          Simmonds - Galchenyuk - Eberle

Doesn't work for you? (Looks pretty good to me!)

Why would Montreal give up on Galchenyuk?

I don't think they should, myself. If he plays center, he's necessary. If Montreal keeps him at LW, he'll be playing behind Pacioretty, so could be considered in a trade for a top line center however.

Just because you trade someone does not mean you are giving up on them.

I just didn't see an equal player coming back, so I asked for an explanation. I don't follow the Habs so I wasn't sure what exactly was going on in Montreal.

Edmonton would be very very happy with their return. In fact, you can call up Chia and Bergy and get this trade call started. lol
