Meier should definitely be here. He's been underrated for a while now

Matthews is one of the leagues best goal scorers, is extremely underrated defensively, and makes smart decisions with the puck. Obviously McDavid is number one, but Drai's success is largely due in part to McDavids talent. Nothing against Drai, he's a very good player, but he is TERRIBLE defensively, and that weighs his down significantly. Same can be said about Ovi. Yes he's been great this year, but again outside of offense he leaves a lot to be desired.

Mc David isn't number one. That belongs solely to Milan Lucic.

Ranking lists on here are always fun because people take them personally.

Ovechkin defense is bad? lol oh his xgf% is 52.24%... do you consider that bad? lol. People like you like to just blurt out false narratives... Ovechkin is a solid 2 way player that is absolutely outplaying MAtthews this years.... 3rd in points as a 36 year old.... Matthews is what 12 years younger and you consider him "elite".... 12 years older still showing kids how to play hockey... R E S P E C T is missing.... clear sign of a bias fan is glorifying your players accomplishments and diminishing other players ... esp when you claim ovechkins defense "leaves a lot to be desired"

LD relies more on the PP than "mcdavid". Either way he's an offensive juggernaut. Love how you act like Matthews isnt playing with extremely talented players . Marner and Nylander are both great.

arguing a 25 year old power forward scoring at a 1.2 ppg should be in the top 50 over a guy who has yet to play a game this year is a valid argument.

Ovi plays with Kuzy and Backstrom. McDavid plays with Drai and Nuge. All of these guys play with talented players. If Matthews isnt top 2, he is top 3.

Matthews is one of the the most glorified player on this site..... he's not top 3. Hardly matters bc its all subjective but the NEED to overvalue Matthews or to force him up the list is just weird. Mcdavid and Ovechkin imo are clearly the best 2 players in the league this year. there are a ton of people you can argue 3-10000 but those 2 are clearly 1 ans 2 this year
