My Team China Roster Predictions 2022 Beijing

I spent over 3 hours on this. I know nothing about Chinese Hockey, I don’t follow any players playing right now, I probably got so many of the forwards specific positions wrong since no website would clarify anything in that regard, and I have one goalie on here who technically hasn’t played in a couple of seasons because I couldn’t find a 3rd goalie that was 18 or over. I did my best with this and I even had to do it twice so all I ask is to please not give me a problem for this one time. I worked extremely hard on this one and I really don’t need that grief. Yeah, I know this team is awful and the only player on here with any kind of minor credibility whatsoever is Misha Song, but this Country literally has no one when it comes to hockey. It doesn’t matter who is on here because at the end of the day, this team is gonna get killed every night and there’s a really good chance that they might not score a goal throughout the entire Olympic Tournament. Any different looking roster will have the same exact outcome. So please no drama this time. After 3 hours of working on this specific one, I’m just done.

The current roster I believe has a bunch of players born of Chinese heritage but not actual Chinese citizens. I'd expect the IIHF to tweak the rules a bit such that Team China can at least hope to be remotely competitive at the upcoming Olympics.

I'm getting the sense that NHL players won't be going anyways so I don't think the implications will be as bad.

No these are actual players. 9 of them play for Kunlun Red Star of the KHL, the rest play all over.

I believe that, but it just goes to say how comparably weak this team looks like. I mean, I as an European know or have heard of probably over 5000 different players between different leagues, yet none of these seem even relatively familiar.

Regardless, very good job on this one.

Regardless, very good job on this one.

Much appreciated! And yeah I know this team is awful. They probably won’t even score a goal if NHLers play. If they don’t then maybe 2 total goals tops.

Have you ever looked into Ho's advanced stats? An absolute nightmare for McDavid and the rest of team Canada. Could be the difference between Gold or Silver for team China.

I do think Sun is great in the locker room though. So I do think he should be there, but I can't see him in the lineup consistently. Just my thoughts.
