What would be your trade comp for Severson?

Minnesota doesn't need or want d. No chance Minnesota is giving up calen addison or a 1st round pick for a player, position they don't need

Liligren is a Blue-chip prospect and has finally stepped into his role. He isn't a career 3rd pairing dman like Gudas was/is. A closer deal would be Holl, a 1st and a 3rd for Severson to that comparable

Problem with that one is that Holl will be 30, while Gudas was 24. Dermott would probably be the age-appropriate comp. but doubt Devils would do that. Probably would take Liljegren or Niemela.

But with these “comps” posts, I try to come with the the comps first, then fill in players to match. So, some I like some I don’t. But helps keep me realistic about expectations.

I’ll stick with Fabbro and the 1st

Carrier was the other comp. I have seen enough on here to believe that if either get dealt it would be for young forward. So not a deal I’d propose. But the comp seemed to fit, so I ran with it.

We all knew what Gudas was at 24 tho. He never was a big skater and was just a goon really, which is why he had value. But he was a 3rd pairing dman. Dermott would be a closer comparable but like you said, Devils may not bite. Then again, they are stats nerds over there and Dermott has decent numbers.

I know Niemela is pretty much untouchable atm, they are very very high on him, and Liligren is too valuable, especially at the cap hit hell have for the next 3-4 years.

So, Dermott closer comp than Holl. But not enough for Jersey.

Maybe swap the 3rd with useful prospect.

NSH trading Carrier is even less likely. Regardless of Severson's value around the league, I can't see the Preds trading for him - even if the price were just one of Fabbro, Carrier, or their 1st. Some of these valuations are all over though. The difference between Fabbro and someone like Beaulieu or Liljegren is a bit more than a 3rd.
