Incoming sharks fans saying hertl should warrant pastrnak and four firsts.

Def not that package, but Debrusk a first and a later pick for sure.............worth it provided BOS thinks they have a shot at the playoffs.

I think boston thinks they have more than a shot at the playoffs.

Most sharks fans seem to scoff at the notion of debrusk and a first + for hertl. It’s getting kind of crazy. They think its multiple firsts or bust.

There's no multiple firsts for any rental IMO (unless it's a McDavid / Draisaitl type, and that's only due to the first opportunity to sign). It's almost guaranteed BOS won't be able to sign him after this year (but still possible), so anything more than a first and Debrusk (and maybe the sweetener) just screws BOS future.
Hobo a aimé ceci.

Why is it guaranteed they couldn’t sign him?

If cap goes up, I think they can (which it probably will), but he's gonna be looking for $7-8 long term, which doesn't leave a lot for the remaining 5 they need. I think he'd be a great addition for the team, and Hall will finally get a decent center (after Krejci left). But they NEED to resign Bergeron, and he'll take a hometown discount, but you'll still be looking at a multi year deal of $5 mil on him. So funds are linmited. And you guys have no top end prospects

I’d take another look at the cap.

Highly doubt that bergeron is a multi year deal. They can use performance bonuses for him.

My feeling is 2 years, and the bonus's still count against the cap, just a year down the road, which is never good

It is if you’re planning a re-tool after bergeron is done. Bruins have done it before.

Of the 5 players to fill out the roster 3 of them will be ELC or $800K players like Blidh, Karson etc. Bergeron is a wait and see what happens but its unlikely he takes a lot and puts the team in an bad position. There is definitely a way they can fit Hertl in.
