Brysons stock keeps climbing. We have a ton of left d, and our future at wing looks pretty decent. Goaltending should be addressed by grabbing a league average guy on the cheap. Look at who we have either here or coming soon on the wings- olofsson, tuch, quinn, peterka, asplund, possibly rosen, and im guessing at least one of krebs/thompson/mittelstadt ends up on the wing, plus i believe two of the russian kids and bloom that we just drafted. I dont see much reason to look for a winger unless you wanna add a specific skill set- tougher or faster for instance. Its a solid group on paper. Center doesnt look nearly as strong to me- i think our first this year is on a center that will be a top line center. Cozens is probably fine to pencil into the top 6. The rest im not sold on yet, but of course, you arent getting a top 6 center for jacob bryson. I suppose what makes sense to me is a right d that knows where his own zone is and maybe finishes his checks. Thats my choice.
You’re not wrong, but right handed shooting defenders are a lot harder to get out of other teams right now. There seems to be a shortage league wide, so even mediocre right handed shooting defensemen are going for more than they are probably worth. Having another guy you can plug-in and see if he fits isn’t a bad thing. You can try to parlay some of that wing depth into a younger Center via trade with a team that doesn’t have as much wing depth as we do if such a trade is possible.
