Peter Thome is a goalie prospect in the Columbus Blue Jackets system, currently on the reserve list. We drafted him in the 6th round (155th overall) in 2016. He spent 5 years playing in the NCAA, which i didn't even think was possible, at least in hockey (4 years at the University of North Dakota, 1 year at the University of St. Thomas) and is currently 24 years old. In his sophomore year at UND, he put up a GAA of 1.37, a SV% of .935, and 2 shutouts in 11 appearances, so he has good potential, but in his most recent year, his 1st at St. Thomas, he put up a lackluster 4.24 GAA and .872 SV% in 10 appearances. Will he play a game at the NHL (or even AHL) level at this rate? Is this another Merzlikins/Sorokin situation, or is he just a lost cause at this point?
