In fairness ovi seems one of the most unique players in NHL history it's bonkers he's been able to stay so good given his chaotic physical style early on
Ovi:
2017-18…87 points in 82 games
2018-19…89 points in 81 games
2019-20…67 points in 68 games
2020-21…42points in 45 games..4 points in 5 play-off games.
Ovi: 285 points in 276 games
Geno:
2017-18…98 points in 78 games
2018-19…72 points in 68 games
2019-20…74 points in 55 games
2020-21…28 points in 33 games..5 points in 4 play-off games(again, was playing on one leg; shouldn’t have played at all. Should’ve had the surgery then).
Geno: 272 points in 234 games.
I don’t see a huge difference. Ovi is just 9 months older too.
But yes, Ovi much more physical.
But people forget so quickly. Wait till Geno gets back and is healthy. Like I said, he’s still a top 50 player in the NHL; If not better.
And again, like I said, he was still making defenders look stupid last season, on one leg, at 34 years old. I don’t see Geno not being an over a point per game player when he gets back.
