If Holland wasn't the Worst GM in All of Sports

Datsyuk would have no reason to retire a year early, because he'd be playing on a contending team with young talent around him (see Jagr).
    2.
    CHI
Who in their right freakin' mind would choose Franzen over Hossa? Who? Hossa is a HOFer, Franzen is an inconsistent floater.
      3.
      ANA
      1. Miller, Drew
      Détails additionnels:
I'm swapping these two, because Holland chose to keep Miller, the most fake PK specialist ever in the NHL, over a younger, faster, more offensively inclined Eaves.
      4.
      PHI
      1. Nielsen, Frans
      Détails additionnels:
Holland is so big on hoarding assets, and completely over-valuing his own players, but he is okay with giving away Filppula for nothing via FA. Why not re-sign a homegrown, rock-solid 2nd line center?
      5.
      ARI
No reason for our genius GM to trade Datsyuk's contract and trade down, only to waste a draft pick on a mediocre player.

        Détails additionnels:
I'm just trading Ericsson away, because I would never be dumb enough to sign to such a contract in the first place. Pitiful.

This is just a start....I haven't even really touched on the Defense yet. Oh wait, that is because Holland hasn't either. Babcock asked for RH defenders since Rafalski left and couldn't deliver anyone but Ian White.

In all reality I really would have preferred (if filpula would have accepted it) that Detroit gave a mid rounder for filpula this past offseason instead of signing Nielsen to the long term big contract. Such similar players. Same age. Even were drafted like 4 picks apart. I think Tampa was looking to move him for cap too.

You do have some valid criticisms but letting a player walk as UFA is not valid. Many teams have upcoming UFAs and they keep them because he helps their team trying to make the playoffs or in the playoffs.
If all upcoming UFAs were traded, there would be 90 trades made at TDL, because all teams would be getting rid of their UFAs. Of course they would have no place to go because "no team can have a UFA on their roster."

You're a spoiled ass *****. 25 years of playoff hockey, 4 cups and now we're missing the playoffs 1 year and he's the worse GM ever? Leafs fans would sell their soul to the devil for 1 cup let alone 4

Life became the streak. It's hard to complain about being the most successful team in about all sports over the last 25 years

Holland's issue is that he is more concerned about keeping a playoff streak alive than winning a Stanley Cup. He should've started a rebuild a few years ago, but he really should've started it once Stamkos resigned with the Lightning. But either way, the defense is still awful. A team with a defense this bad should never be in the playoffs.

Holland may suck but Bowman is the biggest tool. Guy's won a bunch of Cups using Dale Tallon's guys. Bowman even trades away the good players he drafts like Shaw and Saad because he knows Tallon picked way better players lol. Guy just lucked out and people think he's great because he wins, but it isn't that hard when your handed young Toews, Kane, Keith Seabrooke and Crawford. Hosea was already there too lol.
