Okay. I'm posting in response to a Rangers fan asking why the Caps can't fit Chytil into McMichael's cap space, if they add a pick. If you want to balance it, go right ahead.

That is no where near Chytil's value so the Rangers decline. So there is no reason to make the other trade.

Chytil was on pace for 43 points last year, his best year. He's 22. He has one point in six games this year, on pace for 14 in 82. Two Czech wings play in Detroit. They are better than him and could mentor him. Current value: falling.

Pius was on pace for 41 points last year, his rookie year. He's 25. He has zero points in four games this year, on pace for zero in 82. He played a top six role in Chicago last year and produced points. Current value: falling.

Strome has a 51 point season, but was very bad last year. He's 24. He has zero points in one game this year, on pace for zero in 82. His successful older brother plays for NYR and backchecks. Could be a good influence. Current value: falling.

I'm sure they're all very valuable human beings, but right now they aren't producing the expected offense for their hockey teams, and I think a mutual change of scenes benefits all three teams.

If Detroit has to throw in Washington's 2nd to NYR to get the Rangers over a two year age difference, and NYR tosses Chi a 4th to get over getting one year older, does that make it work? All three are more valuable when they score points, right?
