I like how you say develop our prospects and get them playing time and then you re-sign Campbell (29 yrs old?) AND a 27 yr old Mikheyev and 28 yr old Engvall, and sign Hutchinson, Spezza, Benning, Gudbranson, while keeping simmonds and muzzin.

Then you deal Nylander, dermott, kampf and ritchie, some of the youngest guys.

Taking a step back developing our young guys give them playing time and then adding the nessasary playoff peices is gonna take a year. The year after that we will be back in contention

So this season is out, and next season is out.

That means 2+ seasons, doesn't it?

This season is gonna be another early exit possibly even missing playoffs which will make the leafs sit back and realize instead of all the pressure they should give the young guys and the stars a season with minimal pressure. Im not making them be bad but they arent gonna have to feel like they should be the winner in the end. So its not that this season is out just not seen as contenders at the start
