If you want a 3C who can score 30 points a season, I'm sure you can find someone cheaper than Couturier. I mean, every Toronto fan on this board wants to give away Bozak, and they're willing to retain salary, too. (Just sayin' - I'm not overly fond of Bozak.)

Personally I'd rather just keep RNH - he's a only 23-years-old and still has development ahead of him. He might be the most expensive 3C in the league, but until McDavid gets into his next contract, it doesn't matter.

Ennis is injury-prone, and really doesn't bring anything that Edmonton doesn't already have for half or one-third the cost in Kassian, Pitlick or Slepyshev.

Honestly I think your team got much worse. Have you seen Ennis recently? Dudes got like 9 points in over 30 games and has an injury history. I think you should be the one getting the pick from them even with the salary retention he's expensive. Maybe its just me but I think paying a guy 3M to score at a pace less than 30 points is ludacris. I'd put my money elsewhere. Also The swap of centers isn't good for you. Nuge is better than Couts. You must really love that 2nd round pick to downgrade at that position. I guess this is like an unfinished thought. I'd have to see what you do with that 2nd round pick to really weigh going from Nuge to Couts. Maybe if you traded the 2nd round pick for a better backup goalie. Berra is so meh. I think you can be a playoff team next year, but If Talbot went down for any part of the year you'd be completely screwed. Most teams would be in hard shape losing their starter but this is like the extreme. Just no quality depth at all. It'd be like going to Vegas and putting your Hotel and Meal money on the Roulette table on red or black and taking a huge risk. Sure it could payoff if it works out, but if it doesn't work your probably temporarily homeless lol. I think My team has had a lot of trouble with the backup this year but Khodubin has turned it around recently and we do have youth that could pan out. Maybe you could trade us that 2nd round pick for a gamble on Malcolm Subban if Vegas doesn't take him. He's athletic enough to be a star, but he's crapped his pants at the NHL level. Maybe our teams respective GM's will read this and make a deal around a 2nd and Subban, after all they do know each other very well, so there should be know social hurdle to jump to initiate a conversation. If your goalie situation looked better I'd give this team a solid B as a grade. I'm still pissed off Benning didn't get signed by us even though we have too many Dmen already. Good work.

Oilers have a former NCAA goaler who is ripping it up in the AHL, plus some great younger (OHL, Europe) prospects. They don't want / need Subban.

If your talking about Nick Ellis and Brossoit as being great prospects or literally any of the other guys you've drafted who have like 3.00+ GAA's and crap SP% I'd have to tell you they clearly aren't on the same level. Subban is outstanding every year in the AHL and just needs to breakthrough in the NHL. He has the athleticism to be a star, the guys your suggesting MIGHT grow into career backups lol.

Lol @ the terms of the Ennis deal. So wait if he scores 20 goals but doesn't play 41 games they still get the 2nd rounder? I don' think they'll EDM will mind upgrading the pick of Ennis manages 19 goals in only 40 games. That is good enough for them.

Might as well make the terms:

3rd round pick conditional on Ennis breaking every single one of Gretzky's records in one season or plays 2 shifts in a single game with EDM. which ever comes first. If so the 3rd becomes a 2nd. laugh

First of all, I haven't drafted anyone. Secondly, Ellis has a 0.922 SP vs Subban's 0.915 - in his rookie season. FYI, in Subban's "outstanding" 4-year AHL career, he's never has a 0.922 season.

Another Edmonton prospect in Europe has a 1.60 GAA and 0.944 SP this year. Dylan Wells is doing very well behind a weak Petes defence.

Maybe you should do some research before posting nonsense, so you don't end up with so much egg on your face.
