Description

Originally thought Kessle but Schmaltz solves a long term C problem for the Rangers and Armstrong has shown he’s not afraid to tear down to the studs, moving out Garland, OEL, Kuemper, and Dvorak.

Schmaltz can play second or third line C, it gives them insurance going forward if they don’t extend Strome, and gives the Rangers a suddenly very deep C spot

Schmaltz is worth more than that. And how are they resigning their RFAs over the next two season if they're taking on another 5.8m?

Rangers would need to add at least a 2nd round pick but potentially even a 1st rounder, but I'm not sure I really see Schmaltz as an upgrade over Strome, or even Chytil. Doesn't really make sense for either team

Chytil and the Rangers want him at center, so he's not going to move to the wing for him longterm. This would be contingent on letting Strome walk. And again, I'm iffy on if it's even an upgrade. I haven't watched him much, but his offense numbers really aren't an upgrade, and his faceoff percentage is on par or worse than these two. I don't think it's a fit

no need to one up apparently this is the price tag for bust level 1st round picks...youll get bonus assets if they have lackluster stats in the AHL/KHL
