I'll never understand why all these people think basement teams should trade first round picks in the next two years. There are franchise players coming up in some seriously deep drafts. For God's sake, next year has five players in the top 5 who could all go first overall. If you're not gonna go at least second round in the playoffs, don't trade firsts. This means that everyone not named, Tampa, Avs, Vegas, Toronto (Ik ik, but they're an exception), and Boston.

Is Josh Norris your future franchise center, though? Is he who you want over Wright, Lambert, Savoie, or Bedard the year after? I'm not sure what the next phase of the plan is when they have plenty of good prospects, but only a couple great prospects, and arguably none who are gonna be franchise players. They don't have a Matthews, Point, Kane, Crosby, or McDavid, and I believe that if they decide to start competing now, they're just gonna wind up being then next Blues. They'll have a lot of really good players, but they aren't gonna do anything unless everybody has a really fantastic year/playoffs at the same time, which is unlikely.

lol I traded for eichel he would be the #1 center with Norris becoming elite on the 2c. Stutzle will become a super star like kane/point and them.
