I get the logic of trying to get something for him if you don't want to do an extension but that move makes the defence way worse.

Muzzin allows them to take the gamble if they truly wish to. But it's a big gamble as you say

If they see Sandin as being ready, i believe a Mo trade would be for help now and would not include futures unless its like what MTL did with the JK picks and they swing them for an upgrade right away.

I don't think they'd hate an ld upgrade but in a cap world they just can't resign him. So they won't pay what a team who could resign him would

Yeah nor are the Hawks likely interested in trading RFAs and picks for a rental as such
