The contract will hurt a lot as soon as next year (not yet this year) when verhaeges raise kicks in and they have to resign Barkov.

But it seems likely a combo of him and a top prospect on knight should be good if not great.

That being said if Bob continues to decline and knight isn't ready? That could ruin a good team fast

I think Knights ready but honestly even for 2 first I can’t think of a team that’ll take him

Yeah they probably just need to wait it out and hope he can be a good 1b goalie. Buy him out if it comes to it with maybe 2 years left

Lineups wrong but yes, Zito has done a great job with this franchise. Could very well be the 1st place team in the Atlantic this year.

Zito should have waited before extending Verhege and Bennett. Could have extended them at this coming deadline if they performed well.

Cause what if Verhaege struggles or Bennett returns to being the guy Calgary fans wanted gone. Your stuck with them unless you give up assets for someone to take them.

Then you got the goaltending. Knight has only played 6 games and sure there is a chance he is the next Hart but I got a feeling he will be in the AHL midway through the season. Then you got arguably the worst contract in the NHL with Bobrosky. The man is barely a starter now let alone a backup.


With Dreidger gone I feel Florida will come back down to earth and maybe get a wildcard spot but with the Metro idk
