I doubt this thing continues but seeing all the salty Habs fans say watch out for Necas OS next year made me want to play out a situation where Necas might get an OS or Canes just give him a big contract before he’s OS eligible. If he does get OS and maybe even if not I think it’s a possibility Canes go after Suzuki which would be hilarious.

Not sure what the term on a Suzuki OS would look like and I’d imagine this one gets matched. I did two years bc I think that’s a more annoying OS for MTL bc if they bridge him they’d probably be looking at the 6-7m range but again not really sure.

2 years makes sense and doesn’t for Canes. Aho Turbo Suzuki and Pesce would all need new deals so that’s a lot to figure out in one offseason. But it also keeps them flexible so they can decide what they want to do. Staal and Skjei come off so that 11m could be spread out for Aho Turbo and Pesce raises realistically and Suzuki would probably sign a longer term deal at a similar AAV so they should be fine if they wanted to keep all of them and all players wanted to stay - not to say the players would take discounts but I think Aho getting 10m, Turbo getting 6-7 and Pesce getting 6ish is reasonable on open market which accounts for 6 of the 11m and they can use rest to fill out remainder of lineup.
