You do have to realize there’s still a risk when trading for a RFA that they can still sign with someone else and they have less value then a player under contract. So worst off you might only have a 3rd round pick for compensation and that’s it. Which would be a massive loss for a team trying to acquire set players. Especially if you traded a lot in that trade.
