No way Minnesota gives up that much. The Caps aren't going to get anywhere near this type of return for him.

The Wild would tell Mtl to go f*** themselves. This isn't a remotely fair trade, and the Wild would never ever do this and shame on you for even suggesting it.

Any chance Nurse out Karlsson in
Why would the Wild do this? Brodin is a much better pure defender than Nurse, and Lambos is probably their best defensive prospect.

TK to CAR
Minnesota's two best players are LW, so they play the same position as Teravainen. We need Centers, or even RW's, or hell both D's could use an impact player, but LW doesn't, Both Kirill and Boldy are just plain better than him. Also, I don't think they can afford him with the cap hell they are in.

Fiala gets traded to Los Angeles
The Kings are going to need to give up a ton more to get a ppg player who is coming into his prime. Probably at least a 1st and a high-tier prospect and a lower level prospect.

Fiala trade
Umm Minnesota is going to cost a lot more then just the 13th pick. Also Ottawa wants Fiala, why would they help New York trade for him?

The Wild decline. Turcotte is at the lowest his value has ever been, and Fiala is coming off his best season ever and he is just entering his prime.

Not enough for Fiala. Going to have to give up quite a lot to get a PPG player who is just entering his prime.

3 pieces for JT Miller
As a Wild fan I don't love this trade. But this is probably what it will take to add a player like Miller. Hunt and Marat are really good B+ level prospects and a 1st rounder is a lot to give up, and it is risky. But if a trade between the Wild and the Canucks were to take place, this is probably what it would have to look like. Maybe add someone like Rask to make the cap work. The Wild are cup hungry and are one of the better teams in the league and adding Miller could put them in the top 5 contenders and close the gap on the Aves.
So for what it is worth, I think this is a good trade suggestion. Good job man!

Holland threesome POV
I want you to explain your line of thinking on why the Wild would want this trade? Like the Bruins I kind of get, and the Oilers would totally do this haha. But why would the Wild? Because it doesn't really make them better in the long or the short term.

A different kind of Min-Van trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>UncleChucker</b></div><div>The concept is interesting... The Wild keep Fiala and Greenway, swap Rask for Miller and 'take a run at it'. I guess it all depends on whether Wild brass feel like they are in a position to make a run this year.
However, a few concerns...
First - it is an overpay. The first needs to be a second OR one of the prospects is removed. Still might be an overpay but it is a touch more realistic.
Second - Long term cap implications for Minny... The trade technically works this year but they'd be hamstrung next year.
As it stands now, they have about 15.5M to fill 10 roster spots (6F, 3D, 1G). That is already going to be tough.
If they trade for Miller, They'd have something like 10.25M to fill 9 roster spots (5F, 3D, 1G). That limits them to league minimum deals and ELCs. It would almost 'force' them to move Dumba for future assets in the off-season. Assuming he's replaced by Addison, that gets them to (roughly) 15.25M for 9 spots. Still a tough spot but at least they have a little more flexibility.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Minny stand pat and go with what they've got. I think they trade the rights of Fiala and Greenway before next year either way. But I'm not sure the Wild are ready to part with Dumba. So, if they do make a move, I think a 'rental' is more likely (i.e.: Hertl).
We'll see I guess...</div></div>
I agree it is an overpay and as a Wild fan I would bawk at it. But I feel this is closer to what it would take to add a JT MIller or Hertl
Yeah I see your point, but I figure we are probably doing a baby rebuild after this season anyways, and JT Miller and Fiala and Dumba and Greenway could all be on the trade block and bring back some serious draft capital and prospects. I just don't see how the Wild can keep a traditional vet heavy team and stay under the cap. I won't complain if Billy G goes for a cup. This is the closest the Wild have ever looked like a contender, and with the dead-cap it could be a couple more seasons until we get another swing. So I am for a slight overpay to try and bring home a Stanley Cup!

My main justification for this trade is Miller wants out bad, and Minnesota needs a top-six C bad! Minnesota is moving out two good prospects and a first rounder to try and add a center that can help them get a cup, Rask is to make the cap work for both teams and he expires out at the end of the season. Vancouver isn't going to contend this year and Miller is unhappy, so it is time to get pieces for the future and both Knut and Hunt can help do that and add some skill and toughness to the prospect pool.

fair- Ben Kuzma reported the wild asked about Miller
No chance Minnesota gives up that much. That would be insane. I don't think Wild would do anything more then Fiala and a second-rounder for Miller.

I don't hate it as a Wild fan, but I think switching Addison and the second for a first rounder and a less prospect would be preferred for me.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kaiser1776</b></div><div>You do have to realize there’s still a risk when trading for a RFA that they can still sign with someone else and they have less value then a player under contract. So worst off you might only have a 3rd round pick for compensation and that’s it. Which would be a massive loss for a team trying to acquire set players. Especially if you traded a lot in that trade. Which was explain to me by from nhl players</div></div>
This is a garbage trade and no GM or player would think this was a good trade.

Fiala traded to New Jersey
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>nikel29</b></div><div>Holtz AND a first rounder? Yeah, keep dreaming. Maybe just the first.</div></div>
No you're incorrect. A player of Fiala's skill is worth at least a very good prospect and first rounder. I mean he would have been the best player on the Devils by far this season. No way he goes for only a first round pick. Sam Reinhart went for more than just a first rounder and he isn't as young or as dynamic as Fiala. You clearly don't understand how trade value works.

I don't see why the Wild would help the Aves clear cap space. Saad isn't worth helping the Aves get out of a bind.
