The way to keep Kerfoot, is to trade Mikheyev, and then the Leafs can keep Engvall too. Signing Bozak and Galenchuk at least to me doesn't seem to be a solution.

Well without chucky, that top 6 is getting weak. I know kerfoot is better than bozak, its the cap hit that we cannot have inour bottom 6. Right now, we are 1.5 mill over the cap. I dont know if taxi squads are a thing this year or not, but I would not count on it. Hence why I want a 23 man roster that is cap compliant.

Gally is a gigantic livability defensively and his offence at the cost of the others isnt near enough.

I’m guessing u mean dubas. He’s completely revamped the defence, improved the offensive depth, drafted very well even with the late picks he’s had, got value for cheap players, and improved the goaltending even with the declining Andersen. The things he has done that aren’t something to look back on fondly are the kadri trade, slightly overpaying marner, and aggressively persuing Tavares, who wasn’t the team’s biggest need at the time.

For what result? Numerous game 7 collapses?

Overpay for Tavares which set up massive over pays for Marthews and Marner, which will handcuff this team into the basement. If he signs Tavares to Crosby type money, 8 mill per year, then willy signs at 6, matthews at 8.5 and marner at 8... so 30.5 mill compared to around 40... ya, he has done a great job... please note the sarcasm. The defense is as good as it has been in years, but that's about to fall apart when we lose Reilly this year thanks to those contracts... also probably losing Campbell too

I’ll agree with you on the Tavares part. Knowing he’d want $11M+, pursuing him shouldn’t have been their top priority. If they didn’t, signing Matthews, marner, and nylander to their current deals would’ve been fine. Matthews and nylander are worth the money, marner is overpaid. I would’ve loved them at those contracts you said, I would’ve loved if they did it for the sake of the team, but they didn’t, and I feel like Dubas completely lost those negotiations. I agree with you on that. Losing rielly is because of the $40M on 4 players. He’ll want at LEAST 7. Sandin is the choice to replace him but, is he really ready? Agree with you on that. I think the defence can survive without rielly, if they find a good replacement. Campbell can easily be resigned. 4.5-5x3 is as much as I’d do. He’s also found value in cheap players and added depth to the squad, and prospect pool, even with the late picks. I do think his criticisms are valid, but he gets way too much hate imo.
