Unless NJ doesn't think they can re-sign Wood I don't see why they move him.

What’s the point of the first being top 10 protected?

Wood really made strides last year and teams will always love his size and especially his speed but he's a hot head that takes dumb penalties and still is below average defensively. His production hasn't come close to his talent so I can see the Devils balking at paying him what he might be asking for and trading him to get assets.

Kampf is the 3rd line center and Brooks is the 4th line center. That's why the leafs got Kampf he's a shutdown center, Kerfoot isn't.

Yeah, I know. I like to try and not shut someone down like an a-hole lol. There's no real sense to why NJ would move him.

He comes in handy. I just can't see NJ wanting to move him unless maybe moving helps them with a much larger deal which this isn't.

If its a deadline deal, chances are the Leafs pick won't need top-10 protection.
