If Fiala is on the move, we'd not be competing for the playoffs. We are already so deep in the wing that Fiala played on the third line. I don't want to trade for Rust, so my counter offer may be a huge lowball, but here we go: Marshall Warren, Rask (half a season left on the deal in the deadline) and a 3rd. I'm sure you will find a better deal somewhere else.

-Might save Florida a bit of cash in year one, but they've set themselves up as well as possible to extend Barkov, and taking on Pettersson would screw up the inevitable attempt to extend Huby the next year.
-Matheson was alright last year, but that contract is really gross. *Maybe* somebody might bite, but I would put the chances of someone taking it on near zero. Maybe somebody will flip a bad contract for it, but yikes on that term.
-That's a lot for Minny to give up when they're going to need all of the ELC/cheap deals/picks they can get over the next few years with those horrible buyout penalties.

yeah i mean we have tons of young goalies coming up. I think we sign Fleury and Desmith and roll with them till Blomqvist and Clang are ready. Desmith would be the starter once MAF retires cause then wed be in a rebuild anyway.

I would say the wild aren’t interested in rust at all. He’s pretty much the exact player they are not looking for. He’s not a strong center and needs a new contract and will be wanting a raise. The wild are pretty set on top 6 wings between kaprizov, zuccarello, fiala, boldy, greenway. They have the prospects, and nhlers to handle it and aren’t in the market for a 30 yr old wing who’s going to want to cash in one last time. So I’d take the team out of the conversation completely.
