Honestly this team is looking solid. Good foward group, good depth and a improved défence, also I don’t see how Hart can have a season as bad as last year and Jones will be better in a backup role.

They have a great coaching staff as well, so I don’t see how they can miss the playoffs even though it’s a tough division.!

It’s kind of a make it or break it season for this team. If they don’t contend this year I think it’s best to blow it up and try again. They have several players they could trade to acquire excellent picks and prospects.

If goaltending returns to form they should be a contender.

I don't think Laczynski makes it unless he has a tremendous camp. I think it's more likely that Allison gets carried onto the main roster. Even then; depending on how camp goes; I doubt Thompson signed to sit in the press box every night. based on your lineup; I'd think they put put thompson on 4th C, and move Frost up to 3C. Move Laughton to the right wing (I realize it's out of position; Laughton seems flexible enough that it might work; and if not swap him and Frost) Laczynski is scratched and NAK is moved to 4th line RW.

It's all conjecture at this point; but if either of our ideas for lines work out; it's a vast improvement over last years lineup.

Eh not even. Giroux and couturier are both UFAs so blow up or not this teams core is going to the next generation.

They should certainly try to sign couturier.

So their core will be couturier (late prime), Konecny (early prime), Farabee (young), Hayes (early 30s), Provorov (early prime), Ellis (early 30s), Hart (young).

Plus they have 3 years of Atkinson and a year of JvR left.

Everyone else is sub 4 mil. That's a core to build around no need to blow it up

Seems a solid core. Lack of a superstar though but a lot of good first liner/top pairing talent. Perhaps Farabee can get there.
