IMO good value trade. Jets might want a centre back though. Evans maybe.
Gee Habs could be solid at centre with Suzuki, KK, Copp and Poehling. I know KK and Poehling would have to step up their game but the possibilities are there.

Yeah maybe, Idk if Habs would want to give up Evans. Jets Have Schieffle, Statsny, Lowry and a couple young C's so it might slide without a C coming from MTL.

Good post! Interesting proposal for Copp. I think the contract for KK is quite a bit too high, though.
2x$750k for Poehling. Player gets the benefit of a 1 way deal his first year even though 10.2(c) and only due a 2 way. Team gets the lower cap hit. Plus, he hasn’t earned surpassing Evans on the team’s salary structure.

KK's Reported to have a contract around the 3M AAV so that's why I went a little cheaper then exactly 3AAV

I like Lehkonen. He would fit nicely in the jets bottom 6 as he does a lot of the same stuff Copp does.
This trade would make me happy as a jets fan and a historical habs fan (step dad HUGE habs guy)

The reason I added Lehky was cause he a big PK guy and he can fit in easily with Winnipeg's LWs IMO and Ylonen is a step away from being in the NHL as a productive player, the 2nd is to level everything out cause Copp would play mainly in the T6 for atleast next year if it happened.

Some finnish guy, he said he doesn't expect it to be signed until September cause monteal technically doesn't have the cap rn they have to wait till Weber is on LTIR

great overall I like the trade,

I don't think Norlinder is coming this year to NA, still playing in Sweden. Might have to wait one more year to the end of Kulak's contract or use Wideman the same way as Norlinder until he makes the team, Similar skill sets on a lesser degree/upside

i hope KK only gets between 2-2.5 but it doesn't bother me if he is 2.8.

I like Copp and he would cost less than some other options to acquire

Really curious what Lehkonen’s value is around the league. If he’s on a set line of Lehkonen Evans Gallagher, I think he breaks out this year as an elite 2 way LW.

Caufield Suzuki Anderson
Hoffman (trade target) Toffoli
Lehkonen Evans Gallagher
Drouin KK Armia

I think even that’s too high. Eriksson Ek’s 2 year bridge contract 2 years ago (same cap ceiling at the time) is the best comp I’ve been able to find so far. KK’s stats the cumulative 2 seasons before the bridge, the numbers aren’t in his favour at all. Eriksson Ek’s also shows though that when you perform on your bridge, you get paid nicely afterwards.

My bet is that Norlinder is more of a lock for our top 7 than Wideman is. Maybe even Kulak. Specifically because of his European assignment clause. Does anyone know if there will still be a taxi squad next year?

That’s not a report, that’s a reporter’s opinion. Habs can exceed the cap by 10% in the off season, so there’s no real concern for cap room, with that said, usually GMs are wise to wait for RFAs in these situations, the contract numbers usually start with those with the lowest stats and slowly trickle higher as more and more signings happen.

There are a lot of 2016 and 2017 draft picks that are about to make way less on bridge contracts than they were previously expecting. The overall cap space remaining across the league just isn’t there.

2x$1,487,500 is my expectation, or only slightly higher. He’s a full 1-2 years younger than most of the other RFAs coming out of ELCs in his same stats bracket. Less years of pro experience, and the fact that this is only still his 21yo season, matters a ton in salary negotiations.

If MB gets a deal done at anything under 2 mil ill be VERY VERY Surprised, He could easily ask for around what kyrou got with stlouis

Kyrou is 23. More than 2 years older than KK. 3 calendar years older in terms of July 1st for CBA purposes. Coming off a 14 goal 35 points in 55 game season (not 5 and 20 in 56 like KK).

Not a particularly appropriate comp on pretty much any relevant metric.

You can bet whatever you want. For an opinion to be meaningful (or communicable) though, it helps to base it on relevant comps.
