Personally I don’t think that’s enough for both Lindholm extended and Rakell. Comparing Lindholm to Jones, he’s better so the return should be more. Boqvist probably has more value than Strome but I’ll call it a wash. Beaudin = to the 1st round swap. But ‘22 first > ‘23 first, pick 44 > ‘23 2nd. And then that basically leaves Teply for Rakell.

Take out Rakell and it’s close enough. Gotta add some to get Rakell too.

It appears from my esteemed colleague @Jah1722's comment that you've changed the deal from its original formulation. My only input is that it now looks okay to me except that with all of the Taco Bell locations in Southern California, we'd much rather have Matej Chalupa than Michal Teply.

I don't think anyone is willing to meet ANA's price for those two players, Rakell has been in trade rumors for a while. At this point, they'll probably get to sell them at the deadline if they don't get Eichel.

If Chicago is willing to make this offer, I think it would be foolish of us to turn it down. Dylan Strome is an upgrade over both an aging Ryan Getzlaf and declining Adam Henrique at center, Nicolas Beaudin seems to me to be a better LD prospect than Jacob Larsson or Josh Mahura, and Matej Chalupa can do Mexican restaurant (an important commercial market in SoCal) endorsement deals. The first and Beaudin for Lindholm, the second and Strome for Rakell, and Chalupa for local color. I'm happy. {burp}

A shout-out commemorating your position (for which you were roundly criticized) a couple of years ago advocating a William Nylander-for-Brett-Pesce exchange before it was too late.

The thing is no one's overpaying for Lindholm like Jones. The fact that Columbus got half of what they did is astounding.

The Jones overpay set the market tho so Lindholm should get a ton if traded but knowing how things will go it’ll just be 1st and some minor pieces.

Like it should be. Jones only got an absolute haul because of his reputation as a top 5 dman (which nobody besides Stan Bowman thinks anymore) which unfortunately Lindholm never had. If Stan still had assets you could maybe get a haul from him (for a Lindholm Jones pairing) but now that he spent everything on Jones you're just out of luck.

I didn't think anyone remembered, but yes, we are getting pretty close to that being a repeat with the three pending UFAs in ANA. On the block/listening to offers (Same thing in my opinion, there's discussions ongoing in both scenarios), but the trigger still hasn't been pulled. At this point, an injury at the deadline could prevent any return and all 3 of these players have an injury history.
